Introduction to Scientific Marketing and Communication
The RNA Therapeutics Institute (RTI)faculty are recognized as scientific trailblazers, and include a Nobel Laureate, the 2018 RNA Society early and mid-career award recipients, and two Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigators.The student will be exposed to a department conducting world-renowned research, as well the opportunity to learn how to assist withincreasing visibility of the RTI through multiple platforms toa variety of audiences in real-world contexts. The student will also learn how to communicate the need for basic science, and which modes of communication are best for a range of audiences.
The student willgain experience in the following areas:
- Event support: Assist in on-site and virtual scientific symposium, including registering attendees, providing logistical information, and gain exposure on managing a hybrid scientific event.
- Database/content management:
- Assisting in website editing on Optimizely
- Conducting additional research into using Salesforce/Pardot for creating webpages and forms and research into emerging RNA therapeutics companies to update current Salesforce database.
- Updatingthe RTI’s databases for alumni, copying the database format to create an “Ask a Scientist” database of alumni who want to do outreach in the community.
- Digital scientific marketing and communications:
- Assist in development of communications materials for social media and website. This may include content creation, brainstorming social media campaigns, and identifying best practices across platforms. Candidate will learn how to use Pardot/Salesforce marketing software and edit website pages.
- Help implement UMass Chan’s commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion by creating and updating accessible content, and considering a variety of cultural contexts to ensure the RTI’s website is relevant to a global audience.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of a member of the faculty, the Bioinformatician is responsible for the design, development, evaluation and iterative modification of a technical infrastructure to expedite the quantitative evaluation of data resulting from studies that are laboratory based. The Song Laboratory at the UMass Chan Medical School (www.umassmed.edu/songlab), located in Worcester, Massachusetts, United State, is seeking to fill Postdoctoral Fellow openings on the development of functional biomaterials (shape memory polymers, anti-infective coatings, synthetic viscoelastic hydrogels) for skeletal tissue regenerations and interrogating cell-material interactions as a function of defined synthetic cellular niche properties. Current research in the Song laboratory is supported by the National Institutes of Health R01 grants as well as state and university funds. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to work both independently and collaboratively, and contribute to a productive and cordial team environment.

Under the general direction of the Director of the MassHealth Quality Office or designee, the Health Data Project Manager will provide high-level and diverse support functions on multiple healthcare quality data and policy-related projects for enterprise-wide quality related initiatives programs and projects. The Project Manager will manage complex data focused analytic projects undertaken by ForHealth Consulting, UMass Chan Medical School on behalf of MassHealth.
This position will work across the MassHealth (Massachusetts Medicaid) organization to manage data vendor(s) and facilitate programmatic and cross functional relationships to ensure delivery of key quality data deliverables. The Health Data Project Manager will drive the coordination, delivery and distribution of data deliverables to leaders across the agency in thedevelopment, performance and management of various quality programs including, but not limited to, MassHealth's payment and care delivery innovation initiatives, including Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Managed Care Organizations, (MCOs), Community Partners (CPs), Integrated programs, hospital and fee-for-service programs.
The Thompson (https://www.umassmed.edu/thompson/) lab at UMass Chan Medical School is recruiting a postdoctoral scientist to investigate how protein citrullination contributes to inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, sepsis, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The scientist will employ various investigative tools, including proteomics, enzymology, protein chemistry, molecular and chemical biology, and others, and work together with immunologists to unveil the changes in protein citrullination and the role of these changes in inflammation. Highly motivated scientists with a recent Ph.D. and proficiency in the relevant investigative tools mentioned above, and a strong interest in chemical biology are encouraged to apply.

The Project Analyst will assist the Director in leading and documenting project activities, and may lead sub-components of a project. The Project Analyst will develop and implement projects while adhering to UMMS’s Project Management guidelines.
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Center on Child Wellbeing and Trauma (CCWT), the Professional Learning Communities & Training Manager develops and implements a PLC strategy, curriculum, and training protocol for all relevant child-serving sections. This position will oversee all training and technical assistance aspects of the Center including how to structure and recruit organizations to learning communities, development of regular communication mechanisms with relevant sectors, ongoing development and implementation of training and technical assistance activities, and reporting and monitoring to goals. Provides leadership, consultation, coaching, and implementation support based on organizational gaps and needs as identified by feedback from stakeholders and community organizations. Provides best in practice education, training, and support to engage participants in training and technical assistance. The Professional Learning Communities Manager continuously seeks and shares new information in the field of trauma and healing to promote best practice information sharing across the state.

Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Training Coordinator is responsible for creating learning assets enabling providers to stay informed about policy and program changes. The Training Coordinator will be skilled in curriculum development, instructor-led, as well as technology-assisted course delivery. The Coordinator will provide expertise in new and existing learning technologies, and remain current in the areas of innovative training, performance support and knowledge management solutions.
