GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The UMass Medical School Office of Communications seeks a summer intern who is interested in learning from an experienced team of communications, content creation and marketing professionals and contributing to the office’s work. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about learning how a professional multimedia communications and marketing team fulfills its mission to tell the story of UMass Medical School, primarily by highlighting the achievements of faculty and focusing on health and science topics, and graduate students in the medical, biomedical research and nursing fields. The communications and marketing intern will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of strategic communications team meetings and discussions; shadow professionals engaged in a variety of roles (including writing, multimedia content creation, social media and marketing); gain insight into the goals and responsibilities of a professional communications operation; and create their own content in collaboration with and under the supervision of members of the Office of Communications.
The Office of Communications is a busy, collegial, and collaborative professional environment, with a mission to promote the work and accomplishments of UMass Medical School faculty, students and staff. POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Instructor plays a key role in the Human Resources Office of Learning and Organizational Development (L&OD) at UMass Medical School. The position does not focus on training administration but is responsible for designing and teaching specialized HR professional development courses for professional staff, leaders and managers at UMMS. The Human Resources Instructor focuses on teaching specific areas of knowledge, on-the-job skills, competencies and capabilities needed to support the UMMS People Strategy. The HR Instructor will design and deliver new HR courses / programs and adjust the current offerings as needed. The HR Instructor will have full responsibility over the learning programs and courses in their portfolio.

Under the direction of the Principle Investigator or designee, the Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRC) is responsible for all aspects of collection and management of data for complex treatment, ancillary, and prevention protocols regulated by the FDA or DHHS, and sponsored by federal agencies, foundations, industrial sponsors or UMass Medical School in support of clinical trials.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Serves as a liaison between patients/visitors, the healthcare team and the organization. Collaborates throughout the organization to help build a culture committed to our vision of improving the patient experience and patient-centered care. This position assists in guiding patients through the healthcare system from screening through diagnosis by assisting with access issues, developing relationships with service providers and tracking interventions and outcomes. Promotes a positive work environment which emphasizes respect to our customers, patients, patients’ families, physicians, staff and other departments.
Functions as a liaison with other UMass Memorial Health Care (UMMHC) departments to ensure integration with institutional and department goals and objectives.
The Patient Advocate/Navigator acts as a twenty-four-hour ambassador and care coordinator in relations with all patients, with a focus on coordination of care. Will assist the members of the clinical and operational teams to anticipate, support and meet the needs of our patients in a patient centered and supportive environment. The Patient Advocate/Navigator works in close alignment with practitioners and staff to evaluate and oversee patients experience and outcomes and assists with coordinating and scheduling appointments throughout the continuum of care. Works with patients and caregivers to ensure optimal outcomes.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the supervision of the Veterinary Services Supervisor or designee, provides clinical and laboratory support in the research animal facilities including specimen collection, treatments, assisting with rodent breeding colony management, animal health rounds and some surgical assistance. This position is considered essential, and as such requires weekend, holiday, and off hours coverage as needed and/or on a rotating basis.
