POSITION SUMMARY:
The Schafer lab focuses on understanding how the immune system interacts with the nervous system to regulate brain plasticity and inflammation in disease (Alzheimer’s, MS, autism, etc.). We use a variety of techniques such as confocal microscopy, single cell RNAseq, spatial transcriptomics, mouse genetics, and behavior to address how microglia modify synapses and, in turn, how these mechanisms go awry in disease. Under the direction of a departmental Manager or designee, the Library Assistant I performs support activities involved in operating the library. This position assists the librarians by following established rules, procedures, and policies.
