GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, or designee, the the Associate I position will be responsible for the day to day operations and financial reconciliation of Retroactive Medicare Enrollment Recovery Project (RMRP). RMRP identifies medical claims that were paid by Medicaid as the primary insurer but subsequently, the beneficiary received notification of Medicare entitlement effective retroactive to or before the date of the furnished service. RMRP will request that the provider or supplier submit the claim to Medicare for payment and will recoup MassHealth payments from the provider. The successful candidate will be have strong project management skills and proven experience in an operations setting with focus on business process improvement.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:   Working as a member of the Medicare Eligibility Enhancement Programs Team at Health Care Finance Solutions (HCFS), the Medicare Premium Assistance Senior Manager is responsible and accountable for oversight of all day-to-day operations of the Medicare Premium Assistance Unit.  The Medicare Premium Assistance Unit is responsible for administering the Massachusetts Medicare Buy-In Program on behalf of the MassHealth program and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services.   Under the direction of the Director or designee, the primary responsibilities of the Senior Manager include the implementation and management of Medicare Buy-In Program policies and procedures, program reporting, enhancement of current program initiatives and supervision of program staff. The Senior Manager will act as a liaison with various entities, including state and federal agencies, community resources and program recipients, to exchange information, coordinate activities, provide training, and resolve issues. The Senior Manager will be accountable for providing direct customer service to MassHealth members, their families and providers to provide information and investigate and resolve issues related to Medicare coverage, eligibility, and premium payments. The Medicare Premium Assistance Senior Manager’s primary goal is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of Medicare coverage information and premium payment transactions within MassHealth systems and manage Medicare Premium Assistance participation to assure coordination of Medicare benefits with MassHealth and support MassHealth as the Payor of Last Resort.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:  Under the general direction of the Director or designee, the Associate Program Director is responsible for the management and oversight of program operations, including program  management, , client services, program integrity and continuous quality improvement.  This position is also responsible for contract management, program development, information technology and business analytics, project management and reporting, state and federal policy, and client relations.   This Associate Director position leads the Benefit Coordination and Recovery (BCR) Team in Third Party Liability (TPL) initiatives at Health Care Finance Solutions (HCFS).  BCR works with state Medicaid programs to identify and coordinate federal and state benefits for program recipients, helping ensure that individuals receive all benefits to which they are entitled, with a focus on private health insurance related benefits.  The Associate Director will lead the BCR Team in providing health insurance identification, benefit coordination and claims processing with private health insurance, recovery programs with Medicare and private insurance, data management and analytics, and programs for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) and Medicaid (MassHealth) program, as well as potential out-of-state clients.  Areas of responsibility will include overseeing unit operations, management, and contract compliance; directing project and financial reporting, invoicing, and internal control processes; collaborating on IT development and maintenance activities; and leading new project and business development.

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Program in Digital Medicine & Clinical Research Core is a sponsored academic program aimed at advancing digital medicine and galvanizing digital medical research innovation.  Under the direction of the Chair for the Department of Medicine, this position will be responsible for scientific/quality project co-development, implementation and management, financial planning, report preparation, and presentation.  The Scientific Director will be closely involved with the Chair in projects that span the UMass Medical School and University of MA Healthcare system. The Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining key strategic partnerships around data science and digital medicine and will be a key driver of programmatic success.   Additional responsibilities include coordinating and planning all day-to-day activities for the Program, helping to establish and manage a new Digital Medicine Fellowship, and helping to develop and grow the Program’s services. The Scientific Director will manage project plans; establishing program budgets and resolving any oversight of program expenses; writing grant proposals, working with Office of Technology in developing intellectual property in contracts, drafting written progress reports to external funding agencies; assisting with developing research proposal budgets; collaborating on the design, development, and coordination of the Program’s efforts in workforce development, and broadening participation (for example through the creation of a new invited lecture series).

The Research Coordinator will be responsible for conducting interviews and administering surveys, maintaining research data, conducting qualitative coding and analysis, and assisting with preparation of manuscripts, reports, and manuals. The Research Coordinator will need to be self-motivated, able to work independently, personable, comfortable in legal and addiction treatment settings, and highly organized. The position will likely involve some travel to courts. Qualitative interviewing and coding experience is preferred but not required.
