GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or designee, the Safety System Technician installs, repairs, operates, tests, and modifies equipment used in supervised fire detection, notification and suppression systems throughout the University and off-site facilities. Has responsibility to insure a fire safe environment, provide proper training to all facilities staff members, maintains test and repair records.

The patient population served consists of adults with chronic and persistent mental health conditions served by the state’s mental health authority. Patients have complex bio-psycho-social needs and may be forensically involved.
