The Li Lab has a broad interest in basic molecular mechanisms underlying the brain function. Using Drosophila as the primary genetic model, the lab is currently investigating how glial cells regulate neuronal signaling, as well as exploring neuronal functions of Ca2+/Calmodulin-binding transcription activators (CAMTA). Now we are recruiting motivated postdoctoral fellows to study these topics in both fly and mouse.
Candidates for this position are expected to have strong experience in molecular cloning, neuronal cell culture, and in mouse or fly genetics. Training on electrophysiology is a plus.

The Kelliher lab has postdoctoral training positions available in the laboratory focused on NOTCH1- mediated leukemogenesis. We applied single cell and bulk RNA-seq to our mouse models of T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) to uncover the clonal heterogeneity that underlies leukemic progression and therapeutic resistance and relapse. These studies revealed a dormant DN3 thymic progenitor population with a gene expression signature that was shared with ALL patients experiencing minimal residual disease. A postdoctoral position is available to identify critical L-IC genes that mediate therapeutic resistance and relapse. Experience in hematopoiesis research preferred.
The Kelliher lab also has had a long standing interest in TNF signaling with a focus on the death domain kinase RIPK1. A postdoctoral fellow position is available to study contributions of RIPK- mediated cell death and/or proinflammatory signaling to human diseases including bone marrow failure, autoimmune hepatitis and neurodegenerative diseases. Experience in innate or adaptive immunology preferred.

Description
The McCollum lab at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is seeking a highly talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to investigate how the Hippo signaling pathway functions both in mitosis to control cell division, and in interphase to control cell fate decisions in response to mechanical cues. Current projects build on our previous work showing how the actin cytoskeleton and mechanical tension control Hippo pathway signaling. An additional project will pursue our novel findings revealing a key role for the Hippo pathway in chromosome segregation and cytokinesis. Work in the lab is inherently multi-disciplinary and may include culture of multiple cell lines, protein purification and analysis, molecular cloning, CRISPR mutagenesis, and cell imaging. Visit our lab website to find out more: https://www.umassmed.edu/mccollumlab/.
