The Hemond Lab (https://www.umassmed.edu/hemondlab/) at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (https://www.umassmed.edu/umasschan/) is seeking a Research Associate for investigations of human, in-vivo MRI biomarker development, assessment and translation for multiple sclerosis. Our laboratory is interdisciplinary and collaborative. We are located at the University Campus in Worcester, MA, which is about 1 hour from both Boston, MA and Providence, RI.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Director of Medicine and the Facility Medical Director, the family nurse practitioner (FNP) provides comprehensive medical care to adult patients with serious mental illness in a psychiatric setting following evidenced based approaches. The FNP acts as a member of an interdisciplinary clinical team and works collaboratively with other team members to provide patient care. The patient population served consists of adults and adolescents with chronic and persistent mental health conditions served by the state’s mental health authority. Patients have complex bio-psycho-social needs and may be forensically involved.

A major function of this position is to conduct desk and onsite audits across various provider types to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. The Auditor performs investigative activities to develop leads and detect aberrant billing practices, including data mining, claims analysis, and medical record assessment.
Onsite requirement 1-2 times per month, all other aspects of the job are remote.
