Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuroinformatics in Child Psychiatry
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position for work within the Division of Neuroinformatics at The Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center at UMass Medical School under the direction of Dr. David N. Kennedy, Professor of Psychiatry and Co-director of the Child and Adolescent NeuroDevelopment Initiative (CANDI), and Director of the Division of Neuroinformatics. The post-doc will work directly with Dr. Kennedy and the Neuroinformatics Team on studying reproducible methods applied to neuroimaging applications in child psychiatry.
This post-doc will work on projects related to NIH funded efforts (ReproNim: Center for Reproducible Neuroimaging Computation; and NITRC - The Neuroimaging Informatics Tools and Resources Collaboratory) and will support investigations using MRI (structural, functional, diffusion, MRS), EEG and fNIRS in the study of typical and atypical development.
Strong applicants will have experience with UNIX-like operating systems and one or more of the following: MATLAB, R, Python, shell scripting. Experience in neuroimaging application tools (such as FreeSurfer, AFNI, FSL, etc.) will also be critical. Experience with version control systems and web design is also a plus. A successful applicant must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Appointments will be made for one year, with a second year re-appointment expected and third year re-appointment possible based on review of the fellow’s progress. Fellowships will be available for start dates as early as Fall 2024, although there is flexibility. Location is flexible, with the possibility of a remote position. The current stipend for first year fellows is commensurate with the standard National Institutes of Health rate and includes eligibility for benefits.
