Under the general direction of the Principle Investigator, the Senior Research Scientist performs a variety of complex research experiments laboratory research on topics pertinent to the interests of the research programs of the laboratory.

Wet chemistry laboratory, and may require appropriate contact with biohazards, radionuclides, toxins, animals, and human specimens.
The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School is recruiting a Radiochemist/ Chemist/Molecular Imaging/Biochemist for a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Radiology https://www.umassmed.edu/Radiology/ . The candidate should have a strong research background in small animal translational imaging and be able to assume the management and operation of a micro-SPECT/PET/CT Core and an Optical Imaging Core, both of which comprise the University’s Small Animal Imaging Core Facility. The successful candidate will interact with university and outside researchers to assist in the design and implementation of imaging studies.
This individual will participate in on-going research projects related to Core activities and should have experience in radiopharmaceutical development with a strong background in radiochemistry and chelation chemistry for radiolabeling biomarkers. A background with both SPECT and PET isotopes and associated labeling chemistries would be highly advantageous. Prior experience with operation of a micro-SPECT or PET system is desired but not required.
