  • Overview


    Under the direction of the Manager of Financial Information Systems or designee, the Systems Analyst performs a variety of duties related to maintaining and administering the Medical School’s applications.



    • Functional system configuration and maintenance
    • Support of system operations including interfaces and processes
    • Responsible for design, development, testing and implementation of upgrades, new modules and new systems
    • Responsible for developing query and reports on the systems or reporting platforms
    • Retrieve data and generating reports from the database as requested by staff.
    • Functional review and administration of systems security
    • Assist both central and de-central users to demonstrate system functionality and features.
    • Develop and maintain relevant documentation to ensure consistent and up to date content of systems and business process documentation
    • Assist in translating user requirements into system specifications and business processes
    • Collaborate with stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization to analyze, prioritize and document requirement to develop analysis or reports
    • Attend/facilitate meetings, users’ interview, or webinars relevant to current or upcoming projects
    • Assist in creating user training materials
    • Collaborate with other Financial Systems staffs, or other business units, work with a variety of campus personnel to determine, evaluate and prioritize system needs
    • Assist in documenting campus level standards and procedures to ensure integrity of systems and data.
    • Monitor systems for adherence to such standards and procedures
    • Perform other duties and projects as required



    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
    • 1-3 years of experience in a position focused on data and analytics to a wide variety of customers.
    • Advanced proficiency uses of desktop productivity tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
    • PeopleSoft, ERP systems and other relational database experience, a plus
    • Tableau, Oracle OBIEE, Power BI, nVision, Crystal, or other reporting tool experience a plus
    • Demonstrated ability to use ACCESS, SQL or similar analytics tools
    • Ability to explain data analysis to non-technical audiences
    • Being able to document business processes using workflow tools
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong attention to details
    • Ability to work independently
