  • Overview



    Under the direction of the Director or designee, the I-9 Project Assistant provides analysis and resolution for an ongoing I-9 conversion project. Paper I-9s have been converted to an electronic format and will need compliance review and possible remediation.  Responsible for independent action within the context of meeting USCIS I-9 regulations and electronic I-9 software recommendations, as well as meeting the overall compliance and timeframe expectations of the project.


    It will be the responsibility of the individual in this role to organize and plan work activities for the I-9 conversion project for review with the Director. This will include reviewing all I-9s as they are uploaded into electronic format, determining appropriate remedy according to USCIS I-9 requirements and software recommendations, and implementing and managing remediation tasks in accordance with project objectives


    Opportunity to work part-time (24 hours/week) during this period. The hours are Tuesday - Friday, 8:30am-2:30pm. 





    • Participate in project teams and coordinate tasks in accordance with project objective(s)
    • Review and document every I-9 in Tracker I-9 for accuracy and remediate as needed
    • In coordination with HRIS, coordinate termination reports and maintain accurate retention schedule batch processing
    • Document and maintain records of current project plans, decisions, project reports, schedules, budgets, cost tracking reports, and other pertinent records 
    • Compile data and update electronic I-9 records beyond initial remediation process
    • Prepare spreadsheets, multi-media presentations, statistical, and financial reports for presentation utilizing a variety of software applications including; but not limited to, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
    • Maintain updated information on proprietary project software (Tracker I-9) and run reports as needed
    • Provide research and administrative support for special projects
    • Perform other duties as required.




    • High School with focus in business administration, a related field, or equivalent experience
    • 1-2 years of related experience
    • Ability to work in a team and meet performance deadlines in a dynamic environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills required to interact with all organizational levels; demonstrated ability to work appropriately with confidential information.
    • Demonstrates the ability to utilizes independent judgment, assess priorities, and operate in a flexible manner to meet the dynamic needs of the department.
    • Demonstrates excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills
    • Demonstrates proficiency with software applications including, but not limited to: Tracker I-9, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

    Additional Information


    • Prior paralegal, compliance or Human Resources experience
    • Experience processing/reviewing I-9s
    • Tracker I-9 or similar electronic I-9 database experience a plus.
