  • Overview

    GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

    Under the supervision of the Director or designee, the Program Data Specialist’s role will include assisting with program operations, focusing on responsibility for working with quantitative and qualitative data, generating reports, writing presentation materials, coordinating technical related activities for the team, and ensuring accurate documentation, tracking, and inventory. This position will be responsible for compiling all program related data and building necessary databases to maintain and report this data. The selected candidate must be extremely flexible, detailed-oriented and motivated, and capable of providing responsive customer service to internal customers.

    Responsibilities

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate with team to design, review, analyze and summarize quantitative and qualitative data with regards to established program/unit goals and objectives.
    • Build database tables, queries, and reports in support of department projects.
    • Make recommendations for technical changes/improvements to databases and/or reporting or analysis of data
    • Perform a variety of both complex and routine technical duties, to maintain databases and program integrity.
    • Ensure database quality through regular testing and maintenance.
    • Research and resolve database issues.
    • Enhance and maintain case tracking system and develop management reports for use internally and externally.
    • Design and produce all required monthly statistical and financial reporting for the Unit/Program.
    • Work with internal and external staff, as appropriate, to resolve and monitor program data and/or reporting issues promptly and in a high-quality manner.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, information technology, or related field; or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to review, analyze and assess technical data and systems.
    • Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access.
    • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in teams and independently.
    • Strong quantitative, analytical, oral and written communication abilities.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Expertise in using Accurint/Lexis.
    • Experience using Secure File Transfer Systems.
    • Knowledge of MassHealth programs.
    • Understanding of Healthcare data.
    • Knowledge of government audit processes.
    • Database development expertise using Microsoft products.
